Liam Hopkins, London 2012.
Creates beauty within the computer, then realises it with painstaking craft.

Barbara writes:
I love meeting Liam – mostly when he's showing with Designersblock – because he so equable and cheerful. I also love his work – the shapes are brilliantly original, whether in polycarbonate, plywood or cardboard. And though his procuts may be developed on a computer, they are usually realised with a high degree of craft. Like this rug here, which although creted with a computer programme, is hand-tufted from pure wool. And my favourite pet is his dog Gerald, a cardboard creation that stalks the land in many guises. Here, with a display for the London Design Festival, he is standing against a rug under a cluster of his wonderful lights, lord of design indeed.
