Anthony Dickens, London 2012
Dynamic London designer with his Tekio (Japanese for adaptation) ultra-flexible paper lighting.
Anthony Dickens is one of London's most gifted young product designers, with a flair for form and originality. Here is his Tekio lighting at Clerkenwell Design Week 2013 (he obligingly crawled inside). The name means "adaptation" in Japanese, and the design, inspired by traditional Japanese Chochin paper lanterns, is indeed ultra-flexible. I have seen this product develop from the very first prototypes to a slot at the Designs of the Year Show, 2013. It's an ambitious and wide-ranging project, but I know Anthony will make it work.
