Rafel Oliva, London 2012
Spanish inventor of the Chinese Whispers machine that turns voices into colour droplets propelled onto the wall.
This machine was installed and working during Tent London at the London Design Festival last year. The idea is that your voice creates it own art, and you take it away with you. Mine was lovely shades of blue, but I'm not sure if that has any deeper meaning. Currently, Rafel, a graduate of the RCA, is back in Spain, waiting for the birth of a baby. He told me: "I never think about the end product – more important to me is the travel."
